Brief Description

The current NYC Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (NYC-LSAMP) is an alliance of three CUNY Community Colleges (Bronx Community College, Guttman Community College, Hostos Community College) and eight Senior Colleges (Baruch College, Brooklyn College, CCNY Grove School of Engineering, College of State Island, Medgar Evers College, Lehman College, New York City College of Technology, Queens College). The Alliance goal is to substantially increase the number of underrepresented minority students who pursue and graduate with Baccalaureate Degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Since Fall 2018, the Alliance has been focused on early intervention and is targeted towards students in their first two years of college. First year students will be recruited in Spring 2019. Enrolled students are eligible for LSAMP, and are designated as Apprentices. At the end of the Spring semester, 10 students will be selected to receive LSAMP funding and are designated as Fellows.
