Syllabus

Textbook

We will be using MTH 05 Lecture Notes, by Andrew McInerney. The textbook is freely available. Students in the class are required to download the book and have an electronic or hard copy with them during class.

Homework

Homework will be assigned at the end of each class, and collected at the beginning of the next. We also have optional electronic homework using the WeBWorK system. You can access the homework page for this class here: Spring 2018, MATH 05 WeBWorK

Grading

Besides the homework that counts for 13% of your grade there will be four in-class exams each counting for 13% of your grade. The final exam for this class, like all Elementary Algebra classes throughout CUNY, is the CUNY Elementary Algebra Final Examination, and counts for 35% of your grade. In order to pass this class your overall grade needs to be 70 or more.
